There was a noisy flock of around 16 Siskin in
Old Skircoat Green yesterday pm.

do you mean the old village behind the Murgatroyd Inn, or Lower Skircoat Green, below the top of Copley lane?
Where they visiting a feeder and what food? They used to be attracted to the red mesh bags of peanuts, but these seem to have gone out of fashion.

They flew into a tree at the junction of New Lane and Skircoat Green.
