Fishing Lake.Brookfoot

Brighouse Angling has decided to revoke my membership on the grounds that it is not for birdwatchers but for fishing only. The fact I have had recent words with the shooter Alan Pounder has nothing to do with this decision. All birders in this area should be aware they have a permit to shoot 2 Cormorants per annum but the bailiff and Pounder are of the opinion that if it eats fish they will shoot at it. Pounder has also been seen to take pot shots at birds just flying over and I am not sure if this is allowed Any comments welcome by E/mail or on the blog.Finish off with 2 Recent Blackbird shots in the garden.

Hi Andy,Whitebird arrived 28/11/2010 and I posted photo on the blog 02/12/2010 and stayed around until 10/02/2011 and very nice it has been but always afraid it would be a target for the Sparrowhawks.

Blackbird shots are fantastic - a great find Mike. It should be safe from predators if it snows again!

Superb Whitebirds, Mike.
This guy at the fishing club sounds a total idiot: surely he should be reported to the police if he's shooting at anything that moves ??
