Kirklees Hall & Bradley Woods

There were 30+ Siskins in a noisy flock at the edge of the Estate this am, and a mixed flock - c20
of Chaffinches and Bramblings across the other side of the path (the Calderdale Way).
No sign of the Little Owls, but one seen yesterday at Bradley Hall Farm.
Bradley Woods were surprisingly quite, with a Nuthatch, and 26 Redwings over the fields nearby.
A noisy, flighty flock of c 20 Sparrows turned out be House Sparrows.....

Was the Little Owl within the Calderdale birding area Mike? We are collecting as many records as we can for this species across our recording area this year. Bradley Hall Farm is on the edge of our area so it depends on the grid ref as to whether it was in or out.

Yes, Jeff, the Owl was on the old barn - not the large renovated farmhouse, but it is still about 300 yards within our area !

Marvelous, thanks Mike. I'll log the sighting.
