Pepper Hill
Lots of Swifts & Swallows flying over Pepper Hill
from Hag Lane area going towards town yesterday
morning, Linnet, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Blue Tits,
Dunnock, Sparrowhawk and GS Woodpecker in garden.
When do the Swifts & Swallows start to leave these
shores ? as there seemed to be a lot of them heading
in the same direction.

Hi Dave - Swifts leave early to mid August though they will congregate in favoured feeding areas at any time in the summer. They move about a lot, often in groups.
Swallows start to head off later, into September and can still be seen in October.
