Withens - Twite feeding
By some miracle I've managed to get on here for the first time since goodness knows when (being a reluctant convert to the new Blogger). Two early morning trips to Withens Clough during the last week. On 5th April very misty and a stiff breeze but 4 Swallow passing through, 10 Teal on the Res. Today, two Twite on the feeding station (no rings seen), a very elusive male Wheatear and a male Goldeneye on the Res. For me, hirundines (only one over Greetland so far) and Wheatear have been in very, very short supply and I was disappointed not to get Ring Ouzel today. Work to convert the Water Treatment Works at Withens to a house is now underway (the Plans were approved), but Yorkshire Water's Plan to convert the Toilet Block at Baitings to a house were refused!
