I got a call from NR around 12.30 about a male Redstart in the Saltonstall area this morning but despite and extensive search this afternoon I was unable to re-locate it - still a very good find for our area.
1 Little Owl
2 Willow Warblers
1 male Sparrowhawk
2 Kestrels
c8 Stock Doves
2 Curlew
A few Swallows around but no House Martins up there yet

Also some good news this evening of a Cuckoo singing in the area (JM) late afternoon. This is another early record for Cuckoo heard on the same date and in the same area as one in 2012.
