Possible Little Egret

Message received this morning that Les Midgley (Brighouse birder) had brief views of what he thinks may well have been a Little Egret near to where the two were seen in 2003. The bird was seen to fly off in the direction of Brighouse, local birders are on the case!

Sorry I got the date wrong - it should read 12th January not the 10th!

Recorder program

As we are at the start of a new year this is a good time for me to remind everyone that we have a computer program available to us (courtesy of the Bradford Ornithological group) for recording, storing and submitting your local sightings. The program includes a fully searchable database and is very simple to use. The Bird Club records are kept on this system which means you can submit your year end records to Nick Dawtrey with only a few clicks of the mouse! the records are then in a form that enables Nick to very easily add them to the "master database". If anyone wants a copy of the program (which is completely free) just E mail me on midgleybirder@yahoo.co.uk and I'll put a disc and instructions in the post.
