Took a visit yesterday evening to see the Sanderlings found by PS. Could only see one individual but quite confiding. Stunning birds as they moult into their summer finery. Common Scoter also still present yesterday evening.

Great photos Daniel. I think this would be a different bird from the two present on 26 May - which could be 100 or more miles further north by now. Until I looked it up in Lars Gejl, I hadn't realised how far north Sanderling breeds. He says that the only ones breeding within Europe are 50-100 pairs on Svalbard. The rest of our (alba) subspecies breed in high Arctic Canada, Greenland, and Russia.
