Swifts/Swallows/Martins survey

Thanks to local birders and all the members of the public who have passed on records of nesting birds during this last week. We now have 70 records in the data base.

We have some big gaps from areas that need visiting so please send your records in as you find them. They can be sent to me direct or the above email or to Calderdale Countryside Service Tel 01422 393233 or email countryside@calderdale.gov.uk

More Swallow sites:
map ref 169217 Brearley Bridge over canal near Bradley Hall: 2 nests.
141250 Till Carr Farm, Lightcliffe-nesting strongly suspected in old stables.
141263 Stables off A58 near Hipperholme - 2 nests, one in old building, for last 25 years according to owner ! and one in new block.
132264 Priestley Green - strongly suspected as 20+ birds are very active around the old outbuildings there.
152245 Woolrow Farm - suspected, as 6+ birds wre very active around the barn there.

3/4 House martins nests at Manor Drive opposite the entrance to jungle experience..

Thanks Andy - we had a report of some Houses Martins in Manor Heath Road so these could be the same ones.
