Many thanks to Ian Brady of Rossendale Ornithologists Club for this recent report;
Ian was sound recording last Saturday morning (4-6-11) and a Black Tern flew north over Gorple Reservoir at 05:30. Other birds included Cuckoo calling and Siskin.
As far as I know this is the first report of a Black Tern over Calderdale this year!

Peter Morton reports a Black Tern at Ringstone back in April.
