"Garden tick!"
OK we don't really have a garden so its more a feeder tick but got our first Brambling in over twenty years of living here this morning.
Only one? Where's the rest of the flock? I was (unsuccessfully) chasing after one in Warley Park t'other day. I have nowt visiting my feeders except two incredibly fat dunnocks. I think they must weigh about 20 stone each by now. The occassional passing Blue Tit or Robin may put in an appearance, and a few resident blackbirds are kicking about but sod all else.
Great record Nick, and you were just saying last night that you hadn't seen a Brambling this winter! The two we've had in the garden are back this morning. If your 1 joins the 2 here does that make a flock?
I must be lucky as today my garden had 4 Mistle Thrush, 2 Song Thrush. 2 Jay, 8 Redwing, 2 Robin, 3 Dunnock, 18 House Sparrow, 16 Blackbird, 3 Blue Tit, 2 Great Tit, 2 Coal Tit,3 Dunnock, 2 Wood Pigeon and a Magpie and a quick visit by a female Sparrowhawk.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,
