EGP this morning

Myself and Andy H visited this morning in the hope of seeing the Scaup, but no luck. The Ski Lake was about 98% frozen with only a small patch of open water over by the waterfall.

Posting for Andy - female GS Woodpecker drumming in his garden early this morning, and it was back again this afternoon.

At EGP:
Cormorant -3 overhead
Sparrowhawk
Kestrel (and another at Elland Bridge)
Lapwing - 53 on the frozen lake
Little Grebe - 4
Coot - 5
Teal - 5
Goldeneye
Grey Heron
Redwing - 11
Song Thrush - 2
Reed Bunting - 2
GS Woodpecker
Jay
Tufted Duck - 5
Moorhen - 3
Bullfinch (female)
About 30 Common Gulls, about 60 BH Gulls and 40-ish Canada Geese also present but obscurred views prevented accurate counts.

Slight correction in that the drumming GSW was in trees nearby my garden and unseen so not sure if male or female. Do females drum? Also visiting the garden 3 reed bunting, pair bullfinch and occasional fieldfare, plus usual. Thanks for post jeff, I can only comment on posts via my phone at the moment.
