10th August More Merlin Pics
I had to keep changing the settings on the camera due to poor lighting conditions. Thankfully the bird was very obliging often stairing right in to the car at us. On two occasions it dropped into the long grass, probably feeding on beetles. Ive seen juveniles before chasing beetles on foot at a site in Calderdale some 10 years ago, they too were very tame allowing very close views.
Thanks Guys, Im using a Panosonic Lumix 18x optical zoom, or so it says. Ive had varying success with it. If Sean Gray or any of the other guys with the better gear were there, the photos would be outstanding.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

Nice set of shots
What type of camera are you using Nick??
Great shots Nick... must be the best local "natural" images of this species to date?
Thanks for sharing.
