Wainstalls - Castle Carr Road
2 Whinchat there this afternoon along with a female Merlin over the moor into Luddenden Dean and 4 Twite near the railway cabins.
The Whinchats are, most of the Stonechats are breeders. When I started birding I think I was about 3 yr before I got either and then my first Stonechat was at South Stack, Anglesey.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

Why are Whinchat and Stonechat suddenly so common when up to recently they were so scarce ?
