Looks like there are plenty of areas around the Pennines where this would be a good idea for encouraging wildlife and retain water in the hills !

Should it be put forward to Calderdale MBC as a suggested initiative to help combat future flooding? Looks a great idea.

Yes! See "Hebweb" www.hebdenbridge.co.uk news page items on floods including upland moorland water catchment area land management . Also see discussion forum on same website. Much of interest there. Petitions to sign etc.
