This morning - on the way up there c45 Pink-footed Geese >W at 09:35 over Mount Tabor
A nice surprise find at the northern end of the reservoir - a single Twite - such a rare bird up there in recent years after many years when it was reasonably common. It was with 2 Reed Buntings initially but I couldn't relocate it on my return an hour or so later.
Also there on the mud
2 Golden Plover
4 Lapwings
1 Dunlin
2 Wigeon
30 Mallard
4 Teal
Only 1 Kestrel there this morning - unusual though wonder if the voles are scarcer now (?)
Twite
Dunlin
Not a lot of sky movement this morning (unless they were very high) other than a few birds all >W.
2 Skylark, 15 Woodpigeon, c60 Fieldfare, 12 Starlings and 4 Jackdaws.

That was a shock I bet to get a Twite on the roadside Dave. Probably a blogger from yesterday when HC said the sky was alive with moving finches.
Great find with the Twite Dave.
Sharp photos as well.
Well done
John
I noticed a Kestrel road casualty up there last week.
Nice find with the Twite Dave, and yes I think the raptors have taken there toll of the voles
as not so many up there now.
