Report from WG
The trees on Broad St / Waterhouse Street had a
gathering of Pied Wagtails at around 7pm today (8th September). At least 50 birds, many with
rather short tails (young birds maybe).
Nearest landmark is the Yorkshire Bank building next door.
Many stand on the ridge of the roof tops on Waterhouse street. It could
well be a overnight roosting site.

I have seen a very large flock of Pied Wag in the tree near WH Smith's bookshop.
It would have been, late autumn, a few years ago, now.
As many as 100 birds if my memory serves me right.
A great sight, as we waited for a bus one evenng, after a long day out walking.
Encouraging to see they are still about.

Cheers John. Yes I recall but I'm hopeless remembering the year! Will have alook next time I'm in town as there is usually some 'white' evidence of the roosting site !
