All of you who were unable to get to Martin Garners talk last night hosted by Huddersfield Bird Group really missed out on a great presentation. Thanks are due to NC for the lift over and to HBG for putting on this FREE but more importantly superb presentation.
If you get the opportunity to see one again, I can highly recommend going along.
You won't be disappointed and will come away wanting to get straight out birding and on that note it looks like the strong winds are pulling things in even this late in the year. Another Greater Yellowlegs has turned up, this time in the Highlands and unseasonal Leach's petrel in the Irish sea and even a swallow down south.
I'm sure there must be something hiding away somewhere in Calderdale, Green winged teal anyone? or maybe even a Russian Common Gull!!

A good talk, made me rethink my approach to birding and identification in particular
