Todmorden garden - Lesser Redpolls
4 male Lesser Redpolls feeding in the garden this afternoon, all looking stunning in their breeding plumage.
Yep - me too. They were just Redpolls to me but when I had to enter sightings of them onto the BTO site for the Atlas, I had to decide whether they were Common, Lesser, Mealy or whatever. I had to catch up on Lesser being separated from Common!
Well I hope they land and build a few nests around my way Dave. I really need some to restore my sanity! I was walking over Long Preston way this morning and saw around 40 rooks busy building nests. I tried to catch a few and import them but they were too elusive.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,
