Barn Owl tonight at 6.20 flew across the main road and landed in a dead tree. If anyone re-locates then check for jesses or any signs that this might be an escaped bird !
1 Golden Plover this afternoon at 12.45 (near Jct 22) flew by the A627 towards Green Withens.

Hi Dave, Happy New Year.
Where exactly was the Owl? There have been a couple of sightings in recent weeks in the valley. Worth checking out the area.
Shouldn't you ba a little careful about posting precise details of BO sightings, given their tendecy to occupy breeding areas all year round?
Just a thought.
Fair point Alf. Given the tendancy for most Barn owl sightings in Calderdale to be suspect/escapes then it was felt Ryburn Valley was broad enough and not to give the precise location. We do need to be careful!
