First Bird Of The Year

What was the first bird you saw in 2017?

A goldfinch feeding on sunflower seeds was mine.

First bird call heard in 2017?

A bullfinch for me.

Presumably that's because the goldfinch had its mouth full 😀 Robin first bird heard during early morning visit to the bathroom, goldfinch first seen also with its mouth full.

First heard was blackbird.
First seen was a flock of 35 waxwings right outside our front window in Walsden. So lucky!
