Illegal hunting in Malta

There is a programme on Radio 4 tomorrow at 11.00am about the illegal hunting of birds in Malta. It's part of the regular Nature series. No doubt it will be available later on iPlayer.

I listened to it on the I player this evening - hard to sum up my anger and frustration. I must add my support to Bird Life Malta for their dedication as they struggle against all the odds to protect the migrants from all the illegal activities of the hunters and the lack of enforcement from the authorities.

Haven't heard it Dave but I can imagine it was depressing, several local birders have spent time out there. If its any consolation, as you know Calderdale birders have raised funds to help supply the local Police with scopes and bins for surveillance work, lets hope they use 'em!

A programme guarenteed to raise your blood pressure if you are pro-wildlife.
