Fly Flatts

Early afternoon in the drizzle - wind from SE
4 Oystercatchers including a pair with 1 half grown chick feeding on the shore beyond the boat house
c8 Common Sandpipers including at least 2 fledged juvs
c400 Canada Geese and 11 Greylags plus 6 juvs
c35 Swifts plus others 100+ moving over high >NE
6+ Swallows
1 male Stonechat
1 juv Wheatear in the field by the top gate near the road
Lots of mipits and 4+ Reed Buntings
1 sub-adult L B B Gull
No Twite , though seed put down again... - not looking good!
Good to see Keith up there as well doing a round.

A good report for Fly on a day like today Dave, that Stonechat is really giving me the run around this year.
The Wheatear could be one moving back through but I suspect breeding near the NE end .

I forgot to mention that we'd seen a single Twite the other day at Fly, David. It was down the road a bit by the lane to Cold Edge Dams.
