John Mather in Knaresborough is always interested in preserving all fresh dead birds. (Serious ornithologist on Council of YNU.) He makes drawer specimens, not stuffed birds. His massive collection is bequeathed to the Nat Hist Museum, London.
He might be able to tell you how it died. (Unless it's just resting :)
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

Nice bird to find Mike but a shame it was dead. Any indication as to how it might have died?
He's not dead he's just resting! ;)
I've got him at home but not had chance to examine him yet. Will take a look in the morning.
