22nd October
1 of 40 Common Gulls at Heath Hill Road this PM.
These Black-headed Gulls were behaving strangly, almost landing in the tree tops and apparently picking things off the leaves (insects ?)
Not much else except a couple of Redwings over Tower Hill.
I saw b.h.gulls doing exactly that some years ago at Lightcliffe. They were plucking off the seeds from the tops of lime trees. Can't remember if I saw them eating them. They may be just exploring what might be edible.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,
