hardcastle craggs, yesterday

plenty of dippers on the river (though possibly the same two) notice that the top one was displaying, to keep a rival off his rock

a goldcrest, a few knocking about but still pretty scarce. lucky at least some survived the winter
also there were:
a heron
long tailed tit
tree creeper
a grey wagtail on the road
plus the usual

Great pics Dan - also good to hear you've seen a few Goldcrests. The bad weather must have taken its toll of our birds.

Good photo's Dan

Usually a pair of Dippers on the mill dam to the left of the river behind Gibson Mill.

Did you check the feeders to the right of the main track going up the hill from Gibson Mill, couple of Nuthatch's last time I was there plus usual Tits & Finches.

no.
normally we just walk to the mill for a coffee and then walk back. the two dippers were actually at the enterace to the site. one flew off up river and i think it was that bird that we kept seeing
