Peregrine falcon
A male peregrine was seen around the piece hall in Halifax town centre yesterday.8 Redwing,6 Herring Gull high east and 4 Goldfinch near the square chapple.
When I see Piece Hall and Peregrine in the same sentence I remember 2 years ago when the staff there reported to the Courier that Peres were nesting in Square Chapel Spire. They printed it. They were kestrels. I'm sure this report was from a birder, or you wouldn't have passed it on.
Peregrines have been using tall buildings in town for at least the last 10 years and its only a matter of time before they nest somewhere.i often see them around town. The Square Chapple spire is a favoured spot.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,
