Shore Lark 1/1/07
Bird still present on Monday with several Skylarks. It gave superb views in the brief midday sun. What a class bird!
Nice to meet you Bruce. I did get the Shorelark, just in time, as the weather deteriorated. Previously had been to SH - just a Goldie and 3 Skylark there.
nigel where was the firecrest showing? been twice without any success, this bird will be a first for me in the uk so very keen to see it. Did it show by the bridge over the canal or in the corner by the river?
Andy, seems to be mobile between the two. In the last couple of days it has been more in the garden(s) of the cottages by the bridge. Today there were 'crests BOTH in the corner AND by the bridge. But it turned up in the garden of the house on the RIGHT as you walk down the slope towards the bridge (canal on your left). Took an hour or so for it to show itself. Best to make sure there is someone watching both places if possible. Med Gull Cullingworth en route.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

And, in my case, nicely followed up with great views of Firecrest in Bingley! Not a bad start to the New Year.
