Upland area

I've been out this morning looking for Mountain Hares on a local moor.

Pleased to say I managed to get my very first sighting of these hares. Shame it's going through the colour change, but still lovely to see.

A big thanks to Chris for posting his sighting the other week

Also 1 Grouse
1 Meadow Pipit
2 Skylark
And flushed what I thought could possibly have been a  Snipe?? but couldn't be sure

The Hares around this area , Thornton Moor, Oxenhope etc have mostly been wiped out with scumbags out long dogging. Safer to give any directions to a sight via text or e mail rather than publically.

Well done Phil - thanks.
Odds on the one you flushed was a Snipe. They are probably one of the only waders in winter on the moor bogs though we occasionally (rarely) get Jack Snipe though 'jack' can be the tricky identification one !
