Brambling

For the last 5 years we have had a single Brambling in the back garden at some time during Jan/Feb/Mar but I was beginning to think we weren't going to see one this year - until this lunchtime when one appeared with 9 Chaffinch and joined the Goldfinches, Greenfinches and Redpolls on and under the feeders. Saw it (I assume just the one bird) twice more during the afternoon. Sort of makes up for the couple of times I've gone after the Luddenden Dean and Crimsworth Dean flocks and not seen them!

Well done Jeff, a nice mix there and pleased the Brambling turned up. There were still around 30 Brambling in Crimsworth last week but I could only get them as flyovers though they should be feeding in the beech woodland somewhere and they have plenty to go at !!

It's amazing how predictable some birds can be.
