Looked around there this morning hoping for Wheatear Dave but no joy. Couldnt find any Goldies in the fields either.

Aha - they're here at last. Didn't see any Wheatears today but hopefully they'll get over to the Upper Valley in the next few days.

No sign of the 2 Wheatears this afternoon (Monday) - just 2 Oystercatchers there instead, and 1Pied Wagtail braving it out in the blustery wind and heavy showers.

Yesterday, at Fly Flatts we had a dead Hare (road-kill), 1x Goldie calling, frogs spawning, 1x Redshank, 2x Oystercatchers, 4x Goldeneye, 7x Twite.
Rather worrying, there appears to be an army of Rhododendrons steadily marching across the moors. We noticed some of these last year, but it appears that someone has been busy planting more of this alien species.....pheasant covey perhaps???
