Crimsworth Dean etc

We went looking for Wheatears but sadly none there as yet. The head of the dean used to be a very reliable spot for March Ring Ouzel as well - but sadly not in the last few years - and none today.
c20 Curlew
c15 Lapwings
Little Owls were absent from the usual spots so they look to have moved out or succumbed in the cold winter (?)
c80 Fieldfares in the dean
1 Sparrowhawk over
3 Goldcrests in the top of the plantation leading down into the crags

Fly Flats - all still frozen but 2 Canada Geese there on the ice
5 Herring Gulls >E over Oxenhope Moor
Cold Edge Road - only 3 Golden Plover found there today

Please see the Queensbury Birders blog for NK's photos of the Common Buzzard seen over Bradshaw Oats Royd this afternoon. This is possibly the bird NCD saw earlier over Mount Tabor a few minutes earlier heading off in the direction of Soil Hill.
