More boxes arrive

Thanks to Mike Sharp and friend for supplying eight new boxes designed for Redstarts. We now have 14 Redstart boxes which we hope to put up in the next few weeks in the upper Luddenden Valley. Redstarts have been known to breed here in the past but numbers have been gradually falling, it is hoped with careful placement of boxes with a 32 - 35 mm hole we can encourage them to nest. Any other boxes would be most welcome.

Don't leave it too long before you put them up - a few redstarts are beginning to appear back in other parts of the UK! There was even a pied fly in Cumbria this week.
