Hardcastle Crags - 8:30 - 11:00

Went to the Crags in the hope of pied fly (there's good numbers in at Barden now, and some are pairing up) redstart (seem to be in well north now) or cuckoo (ditto).

Got nowt on that front. It's a bit early still for Calderdale, but again, they do seem to be well in elsewhere.

Other bits: 2 nesting great spotted woodpecker, tons of willow warbs (lost count) green woodpecker, report from warden of nesting treecreeper nr. Gibson Mill, 3 song thrush, dipper, male blackcap, pair of grey wagtails. 2 roe deer.
Also a quick check at Blake Dean brought wheatear, sparrowhawk, 6+ willow warblers, plus usuals.
