Been sent this picture of a bird in hebden bridge in 2014, but I just can't figure out what it is. Any ideas?

Interesting one ...and not easy to assess the size of the bird - maybe a juvenile Grey Wagtail, though not often seen in bushes. Was it near a stream ?
Pale around the eye and a pale throat and blue/grey colour on the back with a pale wing-bar showing !
Yes it was next to the calder by the Stubbing Wharf. It was around 20 feet up
Apparently the bird was bigger than a blackbird, and the buffish colouring was true to the bird, so I'm not sure it is a grey wagtail, but I can't think of anything better!
Female redstart for me, size aside. A mate of mine took a very similar image recently. Can't add the photo as a comment though.
Ive only had a brief look a matter of seconds before my net went down but it looked like a first winter Grey Wagtail to me. Will have another look when Im up and running again.
Looks like Redstart to me? Don't often see juv wags 20ft up in an oak tree either!
