I'm not sure if this is Calderdale or Huddersfield, but late this aft' a fine looking short-eared owl was sat right by the road, near the old Buckstones Inn, Marsden Moor. It flew off towards Dean Head.

I think it's Kirklees but we still like to know! Especially as it came in Calderdale direction. Thanks Chris.
Part of the moor at the back of the old Buckstones Inn is in Calderdale recording area (and MBC). There were actually 3 Shorties up there this afternoon.
Not a sign of any shorties up Warley Moor. Pleased there are some about nearby Tim.
Three? That is impressive. I go walking (and driving in today's case) up that way a lot, but this one is the first I've seen up there. I shall look even harder now!
