Thought I would add a few more Kingfisher pictures as she had been so obliging and its not so often i have been in the situation of being so close to get a chance to take any pictures

Once again Mick and Kath, Exceptional pictures. Just a female so far?
Great shots - well done. Making the most of a very obliging bird!
Excellent photos and perfectly sharp, you must have a steadier hand than me.
I use the same lens which I love but usually have it low on a tripod, if the light is poor I always seem to get blurs hand held although flight shots are ok letting in more light.
Keep them coming.
Cheers guys. We have only seen the female so far but are hopeful of a male coming on the scene. As you say Brian , poor light is the enemy so the only way out is higher iso's . I think some of mine were 6-800 to get a speed of about 1/400th
