Eastwood sewage works - 6:00pm
High concentration of swallows in the rain, with more than 200 present over the sewage works and woods. Less than a dozen house martins though. Also, 2 juv grey wagtails, 5 pied wagtails, and a dipper, chiffchaff, blackcap and green woodpecker at Jumble Hole.
I had about 50 Swallows over the fields behind our house this morning - we are about a mile away from Eastwood so possibly some of same birds?? I've never seen this many Swallows here and they even flew into the garden while feeding. It was a busy morning with 6 Mipits on the garden wall, a large flock of finches on the feeders (but no Redpolls yet) and a Willow Warbler in the apple tree.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

Saw an impressively large number of Swallows feeding on New Lane at Sowood on Tuesday.
