Quail at Salterhebble.

My brother informed me today of a quail in his small garden on March 30th this year on Bankhouse Lane, Salterhebble. It was feeding underneath his bird feeders on spilt grain. I believe his identification to be accurate as it was very well seen and he is familiar with game birds and their young in general. However, due to the early(?) date and the fact that there is a pheasant (and maybe quail??) breeder on Dudwell Lane, not that far away perhaps this is more likely to be an escape.
