Dotterel search draws blank
Checked a couple of likely Dotterel sites today, High Brown Knoll and Great Manshead but sadly nothing, in fact not much anywhere I visited today apart from a male Mandarin at Ryburn and a few pairs of Stonechat around. Five twite in the Midgley area.
Going by Hx Scientific Soc there was one at Fly Flatts in 1916 but I dipped on that one.Theres some ideal habitat for them on the track from Fly to Cold Edge with bare patches in the heather so you never know.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

saw the birds at penistone today, they just in sheepfield so it may be harder than we think, blackstone edge itself looks good
One former site I didn't check was Sowerby Crow Hill, there was a trip there in the eighties (I think)

Must have been midweek Brian, you'd probably be down t'pit.
I'll try and do Crow Hill in the next couple of days. I've covered it for the last few years running (with no luck!).
