Kingfisher now a regular on the river as you pass over the bridge walking towards the train station.

Looks like a female wood Duck,with broad white spectacle,dull below and yellow eye ring,?But i am no expert on this.
You're bang on Andy - wood duck rather than mandarin. The broader eye spectacle swung it. And thinking about it, there was a male wood duck of couple of years ago at Hebden Bridge.
So it's safe to assume it's an escapee then is it guys??
Hey, with frigate birds dropping out of the sky here and there anything is possible!!! Unfortunately, you may be right.
Can a ring be seen???
