Bridestones above Todmorden

Spent the afternoon up there yesterday. A group of 16 Lapwings including presumabely birds of the year, seems to indicate a good year for them.
Several pairs of curlews all around, very vocal.

A few pairs of Meadow Pipits and Skylarks.

One Kestrel hunting and one Pied Wagtail, plus the usual Crows, Jackdaws, Swifts completed the list.

Disappointingly no Wheatears found. And no owls or other raptors.

I think your Lapwings are failed adult breeders as its a bit early for this years juvs to be flying.I do think its been quiet a good year for lapwings.
