Brighouse Garden

The garden was alive with birds on return from lunch.

18 Waxwings
19 Redwings
15 Blackbirds
2 Mistle Thrush
1 Song Thrush
3 Jays
3 Greenfinch
3 Chaffinch +Blue/Great and Coal Tits
3 Curlew flew over at 1515>E
Not been around for nearly a week so garden birding has been very productive but it has been _minus 13c in my shed for the photos.

Superb photos. The one of a redwing amongst the waxwings is belting.

I'm surprised you haven't installed underfloor heating in that deluxe bolt hole of yours Mike!

Magnificent garden records and photos, Waxwings on your patch and flyover Curlews, I told you that you have a great spot there for vis-mig, brilliant stuff!!!!!!

wow great garden list and some stunning photo's,

lots of birds in our garden but no Waxwings (yet!) on a sad note I have not seen one of our Great Spotted Woodpeckers (a female which has been here every day since August) for a few days now, I fear the worse although the Wren and Long Tailed Tits seem to be o.k.

Wonderful records and photos Mike. A wooly hat and an extra pair of socks will defeat -13C, but the warm glow you get from seeing such birds as those in your list will offset any chill.

Our garden has been pretty good over the last week with 2 Bullfinch, a male GSW (every day), a Brambling, Fieldfare and Mistle Thrush. No Redwings in the garden this year yet - and certainly no Waxwings. Lucky you.

Thanks one and all for the comments on my photos,it is most uplifting and gives me a great deal of pleasure and spurs me on to do better but of course I can only shoot what the birds allow, this is the first time the Fem G/S/W has been close enough to photograph as it is usually only the male that visits
