Pink footed Geese (part of the flock) over the Calder Valley from Midgley Moor at 1 pm today heading west. Perhaps the same flock Matt saw a few minutes later. I overestimated at c200! Digital photography even at a distance confirmed the flock we saw from here was close on 147 birds.
Also present on the moor c40 Meadow Pipits, 1 Skylark and c6 Red Grouse heard and 1 Snipe.
