It's around twelve months since I tramped over this site out though it's evident from the small tracks up there, that one or two other hardy, dedicated birders check it out now and again.
I gave it a go this afternoon as it's always more promising up there as the weather cools down !
I didn't find much on the top but I enjoyed the challenge.
It's a shame the vegetation is now completely taken over by grasses as in the early days, after the excavators, the bare ground with emerging weeds drew in some choice birds on the summit (including Purple Sandpiper, Dotterel, Snow Buntings, Twite and Jack Snipe - to name but a few)
This afternoon
1 Snipe - I nearly trod on it before it lifted
1 Meadow Pipit
1 Blackbird
3 Starlings >N

Should start to pick up on the Hill Dave.
The weather is definitely cooling down!
I'm still living in hope of a Snow Bunt. up there this autumn/winter.
John
No option other than to keep looking John. There is still a good chance but it would be better with a few bare areas for them.
Only thing left with the hill now is a good vantage point. The bottom breeding area has been destroyed and the top over grown, yet another birding area is lost.
