19th November
Just one male Crossbill found today, also 6 Grey Partridge and a Kestrel eating a road kill dead Rabbit.
There's often roadkill along the Ridge at Walshaw. We were counting dead rabbits there once and found a flattened Mallard! Interesting to see a Kestrel scavenging like that. Usually expect it of corvids. I once drove up to a Magpie at Barkisland pecking at a rabbit that had been hit but still twitching!
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

Really nice shots there Nick, especially like the Grey Partridge. They are pretty scarce in Calderdale these days.
