Walshaw Dean, 5 or 6 Crossbills still in the plantation, 1 Stonechat, 2 Buzzards and a flock of 30 Twite reported by MKF. Lower Gorple, unidentified pipit, suspect Rock or Water on call but nearly dark when seen, Dipper and 5 Herring Gulls. BL reports at least 9 Crossbills at Sunderland Pasture above Withens Clough today. Above photo by DF today at Walshaw.

1/2 brambling and female goldeneye at withens clough this lunchtime. Pair stonechat further up cragg rd on turning to business park.
Also possible merlin flew over car as we drove back up to blackstone edge. (N Carter , myself and respective better halves)
Unfortunately a dead Kestrel on the road at heath hill/norton tower where they do give close views hunting by the road.
