Another spring , another moorland fire



A repeat of last year but at the other side of the road. The fire is just SW of the Withins possibly beyond Cold Edge Dams with, as before, a strong wind blowing. Hopefully it will be more accessible than Fly Flatts

Fire up at Withens Clough in the last week or so. Called up yesterday and the triangular field of bracken just by the car park has been burnt out.

Just got phone call from NCD at Mt Tabor who says it looks like the CED area and fire engines are attending. Also comment on my blog from NK saying police have been keeping an eye on this area.

keepers are only supposed to burn every 18years so I find it strange that these fires convienently occur on different areas year on year.
