Mipits and Curlews

Walked from Mankinholes to Erringden this morning and there were 9 Mipits singing on the lower hill slopes below Stoodley Pike; 2 Curlews were singing on Erringden Moor. No sign of Wheatear yet.

They look plucked to me or were the ends snapped? Saw a sparrowhawk on a grey partridge other day
