After Vis Mig, I got home to find a Nuthatch on the garden feeder - been trying to get a photo for the rest of the afternoon!

David Sutcliffe said...: We have heard them in the park on 3occasions since 1974 - this is a red letter day to get one on the feeder. It's so quick I've not managed a photo yet. Sparrowhawk nearly had the male Bullfinch this afternoon - missed it by a split second!; 9:12 pm
Matt Bell said...: I'm sure you know this Dave, but nuthatches are notoriously sulky. If you start to feed them, then forget to fill the feeders and they come to find them empty, they are incredibly hard to tempt back. I told my Dad this when he suddenly started getting a pair very regularly on his feeders. He forgot my advice, and one day didn't refill. They came, took one look around, flew off and have never ever been back. That was over 10 years ago.; 11:23 pm
